By way of example, the stand featured above was developed to display
a leading HD television. The television manufacturer was a major
electronics corporation aiming to display their new product in an
unrivalled manner through a large chain of stores.
The HD television was groundbreaking due to it's thin profile,
so to demonstrate this feature, a rotating stand was mandatory.
Not only did the LCD need to rotate but also display fabulous HD
video and appear to be "floating" on a large illuminated
surface. Origin Live won the contract to produce the desired stand
at under half the price quoted by every other stand manufacturer.
Not only this, but the stringent technical requirements were met,
thanks to a 22 year track record in highly technical projects.

of
abuse and will stop temproarily if rotation is obstructed.

Lightweight with ability to Flat pack -
Strong rigid structure in lightweight, durable aluminium
(14kg) - this is especially important when shipping overseas where
the carraige cost can be reduced from £300 to around £70.
Supports items up to 70kg (150 lbs) depending
on weight distribution.
Stand measures 70cm diameter and 70cm heigtht - custom
sizes are available.
Other specifications
Motor is a high quality dc design - the belt drive is adjustable
so that the rotating platform will stop if it meets resistance as
the belt slips like a clutch.
Lights are 3 off flourescent D shaped bulbs that have long life
and high efficiency.
An RDC safety trip is included to safegaurd against shock when
using lights and / or slip ring.
Speed is adjustable between 0.5rpm to 2.5rpm but could be made
faster.
Drive mechanism specifications
The Main load bearing disc (298mm dia) runs on a vertical axle
supported by 2 sealed bearings (ball bearing type) highly overspecified
and capable of taking very high loading.
The motor is a 12V dc type that drives the platter at around 2.5
revolutions per minute.
The speed is adjustable via a trim pot and is generaly adjustable
between 2 to 3 rpm or more.
The drive is safe as it uses a transformer that reduces the voltage
down to 12Volts.
Gearing is provided by a series of 2 pulleys all belt driven.
This arrangement has proved extremely reliable and has been run
24/7 for months to prove it.
The bearing surface is polished steel on nylon.
The only maintenance required is a yearly clean of the pulleys to
remove any belt deposits.
The drive is virtually silent (same type as used in record players).
Even if rotation is stopped by an immovable object the clutch mechanism
of belt slip ensures safety and there is no possibility of overheating
etc.
